about
bluff hill farm
Easton, Connecticut has deep roots as a farming community. In the 1800s, families who settled this land worked the soil, raised livestock, and built a tradition of providing for their neighbors. At Bluff Hill Farm, we're honored to continue that legacy.
What began with two beehives has grown into our vision: a working farm that produces honey and vegetables for our local community, just as the original settlers did generations ago. We believe in the values that built Easton—hard work, stewardship of the land, and the simple satisfaction of growing good food for good people.
Penelope Rudy learned farming from the ground up on her family's 500-acre cattle ranch on the Western Slopes of Colorado, where she developed a deep respect for the land and the rhythms of agricultural life. Matt Rudy grew up in factory-town Saginaw, Michigan, but when he first visited Easton in 2000, he fell in love with the space, the quiet, and the connection to something more enduring than the industrial landscape of his youth.
Since 2023, we've made our home on Sunny Ridge, adjacent to Maple Row Tree Farm, where we're raising our three daughters and building Bluff Hill Farm. We're grateful to be part of Easton's farming tradition, and we look forward to serving our community with the fruits of our labor for years to come.
